The Duchesse de Berry married the second son of Charles X in 1816 but was widowed at a very young age. She is represented here with her two children, the duc de Bordeaux and his sister Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois, paying homage to her husband. After the Revolution of 1830, she decided to take the throne from King Louis-Philippe and give it to her son. She tried to stir up a revolt in the south of France and in the Vendée, but to no avail. She was eventually arrested in 1832, and after several years in prison was sent to Belgium. She died in Austria in 1870.
